The Importance of Rent Vesting
I would say there has been somewhat of a shift that people are expecting that they don't need to work as hard. I think what it really comes down to is just statistically or by chance where you want to live and the ideal place for you to live isn't the ideal investment for you. If we had purchased our first house the inefficiencies of having to sell and then buy again was devastating. There's fewer reasons you should own your home than why you wouldn't look at buying the home you live in as a good investment.
