The Reluctantness of the American People to Talk About the Crisis

The closer we get to the crisis, the more reluctant we are as a polity to actually discuss the issue. A lot of Republicans now have convinced themselves that thinking about this problem is a pre-Trump thing and therefore somehow unserious or uncool. It's doable but it would be a lot harder now than if we'd done it in 2011.
