World War II and the Greatest Generation
The Brown University Cost of War project estimates that 1.8 million US veterans today have a disability as a result of post-9-11 war. I remember telling you like when the World War II memorial opened on the mall, right? There was this sense that Vietnam scarred a generation of people because the government lied and the cost was so horrific. And there was a hunger around Iraq for a like mannequin, black, white kind of good war again where we topple an evil dictator.
