IV lidocaine is often listed in ERAS protocols Either along with or instead of ketamine. It actually tends to be one of the better studied pain You know analgesics that we have available to us Again, does it works, you know by modulating sodium channels and we're theoretically reducing some of those pain impulses? One of the downsides obviously is that the level of toxicity that comes with it is appreciable And so you have to be very thoughtful about not only the amount of lidocaine that you give intravenous for this But even subsequent uses of local anesthetic on a patient.
