Joe Brainerd: A Memoir
I knew Joe Brainerd when I moved to New York in 1983. We hung out a lot and he was just, he's like, you know, enormously humble shy to the point of weirdness person with a very bad stutter. And at that point, he kind of given up and he quit, quit making art and quit writing. So he was, I don't know what he was doing, but he kind of had stopped and I have no idea if anyone knows why he quit. His Nancy comics are so great.
