I was rather fascinating to read in your book about how Euro-Japanese relations were somewhat strained by the way that our diet has made European people smell. And of course, I wonder whether there's anything to do with that. Moving on from smell then to touch and tell me why do we interpret touch as being one of the most intimate ways of connecting with others? Yeah, well, you know, even if we're close to someone when we're regarding them visually or similarly with hearing or smell, these are all distance senses.
