Sleep Is One of the Primary Means of Recovery

Sleep is one of our primary means for recovery and we know that HRV is a is a determinant of recovery of the nervous system. When we're engaged in REM sleep or dream sleep actually, we see an enhancement of sympathetic activity. But again, very much needed for overall health and well-being to have REM sleep. And if that impaired sleep, especially if you have a sleep disorder, like a sleep wake disorder in Somnia, so forth, we see that these people have significantly lower levels of HRV and higher levels of subjective stress.
