In the fall, when there's all this ripe fruit around the animals, something biologic happens in them where they actually want to eat more of it. The body knows to store it as fat, so that, for survival purposes, they can make it through the winter. We call this the metabox cindrum. It is sort of pathologic for us because it's a major predictor for the development of hyper tension diabedes. And obviously we don't want it. But it's not a patho physiologicl problem. It's not a disease. It's a survival tool.
