How to Measure Syntactic Complexity in Machine Translation
We measured syntactic complexity in terms of these d levels and that's basically i think it's based on first using syntactic parsing and then there are some rules on top of that to determine like how complex that sentence is. We also had human evaluation again like crowdsourced human evaluations which you know are can be noisy so we try to determine two main factors one is what people call fluency or you know how well formed this basically and the other was what people call informativeness or semantic correctness so basically how well it captures a given meaning representation.
