The Importance of Slow Writing

When you're writing music, there is so much else that you have to consider. But I do think that a lot of that was helped by my background writing lyrics first and just kind of thinking about prose is an inherently musical thing. It does seem like something that should be almost like stream of consciousness. For me, yeah, it was a lot of revision and reading things out loud and making adjustments.
