BBC chairman Richard Sharp helped set up a loan facility for Boris Johnson, an £800,000 line of credit guaranteed by a distant Canadian cousin. This happened in late 2020, when Richard Sharp was being considered for his appointment to the BBC,. The result is the Westminster Accounts database, where every political donation since 2016 is itemised and searchable. It tells you that Johnson has earned £6.1 million this parliament over and above his salary. We want to address these questions by tracing the people who have backed him financially, who they are and what they gave. All of which leads to one simple question: just who is funding Boris Johnson?
