The Location of the Limbic System in the Brain
Some people may be familiar with triune brain theory, reptilian brain mammalian brain and primate brain. Broadly speaking we can think of the emotionally salient regions of the brain in terms of those regions responsible for processing emotional stimuli. Those subcortical regions are sometimes described as being part of what's called the limbic system which is thought to be associated with emotional processing.
