An ultrasound early in pregnancy is the first trimester that's before 14 weeks. Due dates for babies conceived by IVF tend to be more accurate, as there's better information about when the pregnancy started. The control of the timing of labor is one of the more complicated mechanisms of human reproduction. In 2016, a study involving more than 40,000 women in London found that if a mum's first child came before or after her due date, then her second baby is likely to do the same.
