H5M1 Bird Flu
H5M1 is otherwise known as avian flu. It's a virulent strain of bird flu and the reason that scientists are particularly worried now. There has been a number of events which have raised alarm bells. The fact that Ecuador announced its first case of H5M1 in January this year is significant because it's never been to Latin America before.
