"It was extremely dangerous because we were the only ones who went outside the gate into Mogadishu without a military escort," he says. "I remember sitting in the back seat behind the driver and I have my pistol here to shoot the driver in the back of the head if he takes a wrong turn, it means he's kidnapped."
