There are so many great little moments where the the text around them is like incorporated into the relationship in real time. They call each other on their bullshit, which is something that I love so much about their relationship. Politics war the many deaths that can claim you at any moment in time is just like not an easy path to being happy together. Of course there is Roslyn's illness. There are the constant challenges and attacks and threats to life.
