The Effects of Plant-Based Diets on Blood Cholesterol Levels
Dr. Osmeld shares the findings of a new study out of Finland on cardiovascular disease and making heart healthy changes to our diet. In just 12 weeks, researchers observed a stepwise reduction in total and LDL cholesterol as subjects consumed less animal protein and more plant protein. The results from this Finnish randomized controlled trial are consistent with mountains of evidence that shows people adopting plant-based dietary patterns have significantly less risk of developing heart disease.
