PropTest: A Cool Tool
Rust is drawing on a bunch of different folkways. A lot of the stuff that I would say we like about Rust existed first in Haskell. So build RS and quote, drive macros, trades, et cetera,. which is kind of interesting. It's much easier than probably most things you guys have done. You can do a few more complex things with PropTest. And it's got a really nice introductory book. They say it's mostly feature complete. But they don't think they're accepting new features to PropTest. We should actually fund the dude.
Andrew Stone of Oxide Engineering joined Bryan, Adam, and the Oxide Friends to talk about his purpose-built, replay debugger for the Oxide setup textual UI. Andrew borrowed a technique from his extensive work with distributed systems to built a UI that was well-structured... and highly amenable to debuggability. He built a custom debugger "in a weekend"!
