The Order of Love in the Catholic Tradition

Christian tradition affirms that were responsible most intimately, most urgently for those things which are closest to us. Aquinas is very explicit that common goods are to be loved more than individual goods. And what happens in war is that the common good of the community includes as an aspect justice order and security. This is how Aquinas justifies capital punishment explicitly.
