The Headwinds That Are Working Against You

Inflation is growing so incredibly fast. If I gave you a million dollars 30 years ago, you would feel a whole lot more secure than with a million dollars today. You wouldn't feel very good retiring with 100 grand. That might be what a million dollars is worth 30 years now. It might be worse than that. So rather than investing to try to make money so I can retire, I'm investing to maintain the value of the money that I've already earned. This is not a sexy concept, but it's defense. And I think more people should be thinking defensively, including you and your wife.
