The Advantages of DNA as a Memory Device

Astronauts now spend most of their working week as science technicians in this orbiting campus. The Kreuzsö Quartet playing acoustic mirror is the first piece of music that has been recorded in DNA. Two years ago a team led by Nick Goldman took a collection of important cultural artifacts, encoded them digitally and then wrote them in DNA. As our digital storage systems become obsolete, DNA may just hold the key to permanent, long-term storage of pictures,. videos, music, basically anything that can be digitised.
