The Challenges of Scaling a Medicare Provider Type
The Medicare Diabetes Prevention Program is an evidence based program that tries to prevent the onset of diabetes in people with pre-diabetes. The CMMI tested it through a Healthcare Innovation Award, found that it was very successful in the Medicare population and moved toward expansion under CMMI's authority. But there were so many challenges in doing that in order to expand specifically through CMMI's Authority.
