The Rise of E-Bike Batteries
Two children lost their lives last week when an e-bike battery exploded in their apartment. The lithium ion batteries created such intense heat and flames that they just consumed the portal of children before help could arrive. In 2022, for example, e-bikes were responsible for an estimated 220 fires and six deaths. That's up about 100% year over year, according to the New York Fire Department.
