Relationality Is What's Important
Most commons that have been really successful, and this is based on people who have studied the commons, like eleanor ostrum, david bolier, are small. Most things happen in small groups. And if they're large, they're many nested small things within a larger thing. So it's all relational. It's all face to face accountability. I don't know anybody in the highway rest stop, but i know all the people in my house, and that creates very different behavior.
