The Pebble: A Contemporary Artwork
This is a contemporary artwork, commissioned from the South African artist Carol Nell in 1985 on the 60th anniversary of the discovery of the Tang child. The piece suggests even at this distant period in our past, how things were beginning to be thought about. And if we think about that story of the Macapans get pebble, there's something consciously down, an obge true way, as John was suggested, taken back. Then it's a work which pulls together a lot of those kind of complex ideas of our distant past and brings it into the present.
