There is kind of like an instinctual desire that you just want like a basic appetite, right? You smell the food and you want to eat it. But then some of these other items we actually cultivate desire based on what we see other people desiring. So it becomes like something we want, perhaps related to what we call conspicuous consumption in economics,. We want the cool car because it's the cool car. Everyone wants it. And I think about it.
