Conservation of Momentum
There's lots of really fascinating examples before we get to energy and one of my favorites is momentum. So why is momentum conserved at all? You might ask that well turns out that momentum is conserved because the universe has no preferred location. We call this translation symmetry like something that happens here in space could equally well happen 10 meters to the right or 100 meters up for example. The laws of physics don't change based on where you are in the universe That's we call translation symmetry and that directly implies Conservation of momentum.
