The One and Only Way to Meditation
Alistair: I see this as a phase towards deeper, more meditative forms of reading of the text. My concern often is that approaches that kind of move quite quickly through to a more meditative reading are not able to present their readings in a more public arena or defend them. How do these sorts of readings of Scripture maintain their character as public encounter with the text by the church? Alistair: It seems to me that in our reading of Scripture, this is something that we need to work towards. The reading of Scripture will lead to this sort of meditative reading.
