In 2000, people were plotting the one metric you can use to assess computing power and the growth of it is calculations per second per thousand dollars. The trend was that even a computer in your pocket can do what a human brain can do - trillions of calculations per second. It's this concept of accelerating rate of change instead of diminishing returns which we often have in other industries such as technology. And so I love this chart, the exponential growth of computing. Maybe you could squirt gases, describe it to people who are listening.
