FINRA Is a Government-Created Cartel
In America, you only can work with a stockbroker who is a member of FINRA. You are not allowed to work in that industry. So it's a government-created cartel. Now if membership was voluntary, then I think it might be a positive thing. But because it's mandatory and everybody has to join, FINRA is more like a government agency than a creature of the free market.
