The standard model seems to be holding up reasonably well. So there are people who speculate about beyond the standard model physics. But so far, there have been no revolutions in that respect. The hugely expected development was this discovery of the acceleration of the universe. This notion of the universe speeding up in its expansion has become known as dark energy.
