Prospect for Locally Advanced Rectal Cancer

The prospect trial started in 2012. The rationale is that for certain tumors, higher up in the rectum, and perhaps not as locally advanced, would it be possible to potentially selectively eliminate concurrent chemo radiation from the standard treatment algorithm? That's what the prospect trial was trying to test. I do think that the result of this trial will be practice changing and that this will become a standard new option for patients with this disease.
