Aristotle says education should enable students to contemplate eternal divine truths so they can't do this automatically. He also is willing in his book the politics at least to include appreciation of music in as sort of part of the happiest contemplative life right he's say he quotes a passage from Homer something to the effect of like the best life is when men are seated at a dinner at a symposium drinking the wine and then the bard comes out and recites you know gives a performance of a song. it with the ethics especially there's certainly this teleological direction of education to terminate in contemplation theory and friendship what role does that play in education as an end for Aristotle?
