What Is the Typical Fish Shape?

Professor Frank Fish studies the energetics, biomechanics and hydrodynamics of swimming in animals at Westchester University. I asked him to describe what he thinks of as the typical fish shape. He says it is essentially a sort of elongate teardrop shape with rounded front edge that expands to some maximum width then tapers to long tail.
