All my creative activity has come from those initial fantasies and dreams, which began in 19 12. I took great care to try to understand every single image, every item of my psychic inventory,. And above all, to realize them in actual life. The images of the unconscious place a great responsibility upon a man. Failure to understand them deprives him of his wholeness and imposes a painful fragmentariness on his life. As young says, we must view it as an ethical responsibility. Turn your gaze inward. Do not judge what you find there, despite what you may fear that you will find there. It's a courageous work, and its difficult task, but it's so very important
