Ukraine's Dollar-Denominated Debt - What's the Problem?
Ukraine is losing billions of dollars per year in transit fees from Russia. The currency has been depreciating, which makes it harder for the country to pay off its dollar-denominated debt with the IMF. Ukraine now, according to World Bank data, has $130 billion in external debt. So that means that we're talking about over half of the GDP and external debt.
