The Sickle of Stony

A knock at the front door kept coming. A man in his 60s or even 70s came and said he was Professor Zachary, from McDaniel University. He explained there were alignments all around us that were very deep and strange. The last thing he told us was that if we stayed, no one could help us. And then he left. No fuss. Turned around, opened the door, went back out onto the porch. Not a single other house on the block had a light on. I looked at my watch slipping away down this silent street. Time was slipping away to Stoney wanted to go now.
