Going to the DeGare type studio was not a cheap operation. A guinea translated into today's terms is £300. You didn't just drop in and have your photo taken. But later on, we're talking about the early 20th century. I noticed very difficult there. Everybody in the correct dress on their best. Absolutely. Also, often it's the only photograph taken of a child. And that's why everybody's faces have to show in order. So because that's the only record of that child.
