Pete Vigolo: I was in Tempe for unrelated reasons and thought that while I'm here, why don't I go check out the scene of this historic accident? For the industry and was really struck while I was there at how little in a sense had changed. The roadway design was also a factor and standing there on the same corner, I could really look around and see exactly why that was such a precarious spot for a pedestrian.
