The Cathedral: A System of Belief
I think that it is the sincere belief system of these people. When you... I mean, it is in a way you could describe it as theological. But Yarvin's characterization of it as being a cathedral is broadly correct because it is a system of belief. And so when they see the church move against a heretic or an enemy, then they all fall into line and they do what is supposed to be done with them. Even if it facily compromises their credibility, even if it is something that eventually costs them their job. So it's remarkable what their prepared sacrifice for this faith.
