Roger Chillingworth is what everyone says when he walks by. He just wants to torment the sky and watch him writhe in agony about his secret shame. Hester bears a lot of ridicule, which is what would happen if you wore a big scarlet A that sort of advertised forgetfulness. I feel like we don't have a lot of sins in between.
