The Connection Between Valentine's Day and Romance

This was an early valentine's day, yes sothe at a similar time of year. I guess you could see thematic connections between thatof fertility and may be turned into a more sanitized version as a celebration of love. We have no firm evidence that this is the case, even though it's quite likely. And we've talked before about how there's possibility that the saturnalia and christmas are connected. They seem to have a lot of things in common, like present giving. There's less in common here, and there's no direct evidence that we know of to say thatValentine's Day grows out of the lupacalia.
