Is It the Core of Our Understanding of What's Going on in the United States?
There is an element of nihilistic rage definitely, but I don't think we should make it the core of our explanation. We can't explain why that anger and rage is always guided against the same targets. And we also cannot explain the very deliberate and very systematic way in which the right attempts to realize this because they are passing laws. It's just not the case that these people are just sitting around and have no plan what to do. They're just a dog chasing the car and once it gets the car, they don't know what to do with it. That's why they're coming up with all this legislation everywhere.
