The Pilots' Inability to Perform Preliminary Tasks

The captain gave the only consideration in reference to the available after accepting the offer to land on runway one nine. There was no evidence that either pilot acknowledged tha little time t was able to perform the preliminary tasks, such as verifying their position or executing the approach. The flight crew attempted to both review the approach and determine the airplane's present and predicted position in reference to critical points on the approach. Their inability to effectively do both tasks is evidenced when, shortly after trying to find the new approach chart, the first officer asked, where are we? And there was a short discussion afterwards about their position relative to the tilo o v o r - something you don't want to hear.
