If the US were to stop producing fossil fuels tomorrow, that would be 7.8% of their GDP disappearing overnight. At $45 a barrel, we watch the UK-NG crisis get much worse as the UK can no longer afford to produce oil. The next cheapest production will also be completely owned by countries like Saudi Arabia who have lowest cost of production. Imagine how different all these geopolitical remains are at each of those stages.
