The Challenges of Affirmative Action
I think it is a real challenge for the press. It's very hard to kind of try to identify and determine the practical significance of these cases in advance. I've heard it said about affirmative action that this is really not a big issue because it only really affects, you know, a small percentage of people who send their kids to school colleges. I don't actually agree with that. And I don't agree with it for the simple reason that I think it's an issue that Americans have really strong views about. The case on collecting and testing DNA from arrestees got very little press coverage until the oral argument. But now we're correcting that right now.
