The Importance of Listening to Your Team
Hibba: One of the biggest plunders managers can make is treating people like the manager wants to be treated versus treating people how the people want to be treated. GBA: There's something really powerful for me as a manager to basically gain consent on how to deliver feedback. So if you take the time to learn how to understand people and the questions to ask to get them to share more about themselves, then you follow that up with, hey, Jacob, I heard that you really appreciate getting feedback as it's happening in this way. It makes the process of delivering feedback so much easier for the manager.
