Is There a Justification for the Russian Regime?

No historical examples where a population have said, we're fed up of these sanctions. Therefore, we're going to overthrow our government? And no, there haven't been any, indeed. But i think it would be very naive for us to take that on face value at this point. It's remarkable to me how widespread the acceptance of this is. Whatever one thinks of sanctions, the fact that they so widely perceived as basically reasonable option in statecraft is quite remarkable given their actual history.
