The Effect of Non Being on the History of Western Philosophy
Vantill: All non christian understandings of the nature of the world have parallel epistemology. He says man can carve out some kind of realm of independent ingenuity, whereby he can ascend his station in the grand cosmic hierarchy. In a christian system that begins with the true and living god, who is exhaustively personal, creates by the sovereign counsel of his own will. For man, non being is the field of god's possible operation. But it's not as if there some vacuous emptiness or neoplatonic plenum. There is no other place or thing that exists independent of god.
