In 18 27, joseph worcester put out an abridgment of johnson's dictionary. He was now, in a way, a trained lexicographer. He had done it himself and published this work. And he americanized it for sure. In 18 28 is the big, famous year where webster, working on his own, came out with a book that been 20 years in the making,. His great dictionary in 18 28.
